Jättesen kongressrapport 10: A Queerer War

Ungefär lika försenat som mina utlovade inlägg med londontips: Några glimtar från paneler och föredrag på LonCon3, 2014 års Worldcon. (Det här blir väldigt svengelskt, sorry.)

A Queerer War

TH: All my characters are bisexual unless I specifically state otherwise. Moderator: Did the military setting change anything to that approach? TH: No.

(Roligt när moderatorn frågar TH om hon skrivit något annat än militär-sf och hon börjar räkna upp. När hon hållit på ett tag säger han ”OK, get it” och hon ”I'm not done.”)

AL: The stories we read affect how we organise the world around us, and thereby how we treat each other. Authors need to be true to themselves AND think about their assumptions and angles, to SEE what they're doing. Fiction provides the models by which we see the world. (Great power, with which comes great responsibility.)

TH: When the ”war is a masculine thing” comes up, my wife always says, ”Margaret Thatcher”.
