I'm not Harry Dresden.

Harry's a wizard. A genuine, honest-to-goodness wizard. He's Gandalf on crack and an IV of Red Bull, with a big leather coat and a .44 revolver in his pocket. He'll spit in the eye of gods and demons alike if he thinks it needs to be done, and to hell with the consequences--and yet somehow my little brother manages to remain a decent human being.

I'll be damned if I know how.

But then, I'll be damned regardless.

My name is Thomas Raith, and I'm a monster.

Det torde inte vara någon överraskning att jag gillar Jim Butchers The Dresden Files. Wizard noir-godis i Chicago, I'm there. De senaste böckerna har jag dessutom varit väldigt förtjust i [spoiler] Harry Dresdens halvbror white-court-vampyren Thomas Raith. Och nu har Thomas fått en egen story.

En långnovell, 70 sidor - illustrerad av ingen mindre än BPRD:s grundare Mike Mignola. Fint inbunden av Subterranean Press (bara en sån sak).

Cons:
*Bara 70 sidor?!?! Thomas är en utmärkt character, och storyn hade kunnat utvecklats - mer!
*"Bara" 4-5 Mignola-illustrationer?! Mer!!
*Lösryckt: det är inte en riktig self-contained novell, den existerar i Dresdenverse.

Pros:
*Jim Butcher! Thomas Raith! :-D Utmärkt fix för att hålla nivån uppe efter Welcome to the jungle och i väntan på Turn coat.
*Vampyrer, uråldriga konspirationer, Necronomicon, star-crossed-love, urban fantasy.

Den lever inte 100 % upp till inledningen quoted above. Men den gör sitt bästa. Ett måste för läsare som vet vilken wizard-named-Harry som faktiskt kicks ass.
